Reading Booho on the playground for Adrian the other night, I came up with the idea of the next book about Booho – Booho as a pirate.

During the summer I'm working at a big publishing company as a graphic designer. I'm spending about 40 minutes on the train every day and have a lot of time to make sketches.

So, this is is a few sketches from the next book about Booho:

The little lady and the dragon

This is another upcoming children's book – The little lady and the dragon. For the cottage and the little lady I use cardboard, the flowers in the window is aquarelle paintings, the stones are made of clay and painted with aquarelle. There will be a dragon, a cow, an apple tree, flowers and a lot of fire :)

All the animals – The Sea

This is a spread from the upcoming book – All the animals. The book will also include a CD-Rom with animations. Like this one.

Big order from the libraries!

Yes, we have sold copies we yet don't have (Booho on the playground). Since the order is bigger than the amount of books (300) we had made by print-on-demand in September 2006. The distributor of the libraries gave Booho pretty nice reviews in their magazine and the result of that is the order of 480 books. Booho is about to be printed in offset. Yippey :D

Kackel – stories from life

I made this cover for a female network group – Magma. It's an anthology with stories from life itself. Kackel (eng. cackling) is an allusion to women's stories which often are dispatched as babble, yacketyyak or cackling from the poultry yard. These stories are scary, funny, sad, happy.

The typefaces are Gretel (the cross-stitch) and Fransina (in the bubbles and reference text. Not yet released).
